Nigerian media personality and former Big Brother Africa TV star Uti Nwachukwu, famously known as Sir Uti, has weighed in on the recent disqualification of Big Brother Naija season 10 housemate Faith.
In a post on his X account Thursday, October 2, 2025, Uti cautioned against the tendency to label the instigator of conflicts as a victim, calling it a potentially narcissistic and harmful mindset.
Faith was disqualified the same day after a volatile clash with fellow contestant Sultana, a drama that sparked major reactions both inside and outside the BBNaija house.
“Could she have acted better? Yes! Could he have handled it better? Yes!. A trigger is just as grave as a reaction. It is incredibly narcissistic to label the one who triggered/created/fueled the situation a victim and then label the one who reacted (without hitting the other) – an Abuser. This is not defending anyone. It’s analysing what we all watched live, not internet clips. Learn the lessons and dead sentiments, this is 2025, let’s be guided,” he stated.
Uti Nwachukwu, former Big Brother Africa winner and seasoned BBNaija commentator, offered a balanced perspective. Instead of choosing sides, he challenged the common habit of labeling those who trigger conflicts as victims while condemning those who respond, even when their reactions aren’t violent.
According to the show’s rules, specifically Article 18, subsection one, all forms of violence are strictly prohibited. This includes physical aggression, provocation, bullying, and victimization, all of which Faith had suffered in the hands of housemates in the housemates with none being disqualified. Yet, Big Brother holds the authority to impose any punishment deemed appropriate for such offenses.
Nonetheless, it’s important to remember that previous housemates like Erica, Beauty, and Tacha also faced disciplinary measures.
In 2019, Tacha was disqualified after a confrontation with Mercy, where she was found guilty of pushing, shoving, and pulling Mercy’s hair twice — actions classified as violence with intent to harm.
Mercy on her part, received two strikes for provocation after flicking her hair at Tacha and not calming the conflict.
In 2020, Erica was evicted following multiple rule violations, including barring the Deputy Head of House from the lounge, peeping through windows, insulting other contestants, and instigating disputes. Compare these incidents with Faith Vs Sultana incidents and tell if you don’t smell injustice.
