Dangote Group has categorically denied any connection to a truck involved in a road accident in Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State that claimed lives.
The company confirms that the vehicle in question, bearing Plate No. JJJ 365 XB, is owned and operated by an independent logistics firm with no ties to Dangote Group or its subsidiaries.
A press release issued by Dangote Group in reaction to a viral story linking the accident with the company’s truck, maintains that the truck was not carrying Dangote products but was transporting crushed stones packed in reused sacks labeled with various brand names.
Dangote Group emphasizes its stringent fleet management policies, stressing that all company vehicles are clearly branded, tracked, and operated by qualified personnel who adhere to strict safety and compliance standards.
Genuine Dangote trucks are easily identifiable by their unique company markings and fleet numbers, the statement added.
While the company deeply sympathises with all those affected by the incident, it urges members of the public and the media to verify information before attributing ownership or involvement to Dangote Group.
The company also advises media organisations to refrain from using images of Dangote-branded trucks in connection with accidents or incidents unrelated to its operations.
