Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nana Nandap, led a delegation from her management team on a courtesy visit today to the Director General and CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote.
The meeting, according to a press release signed by Ayodele Babalola, anipr, Technical Advisor, Media & Communications to the DG/CEO NIMC, reinforced the commitment of both agencies, pivotal under the Federal Ministry of Interior, to deepen collaboration aimed at enhancing national security, identity management, and service delivery across Nigeria.
During her remarks, CG Nandap highlighted the critical role of a sustained partnership between NIS and NIMC in strengthening border security and identity verification systems, underscoring its contribution to national development goals and a secure identity ecosystem.
In response, Engr. Coker-Odusote welcomed the delegation and reiterated NIMC’s readiness to broaden cooperation with NIS. She pointed out the importance of maintaining a strong partnership to improve data integrity, optimize operations, and secure Nigeria’s borders through advanced identity infrastructure.
Both agencies affirmed their shared dedication to fostering policies and initiatives that promote security, operational efficiency, and innovation in Nigeria’s identity and border management systems.
