American streaming sensation IShowSpeed (real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr.) has touched down in Nigeria, turning the bustling city of Lagos into his latest playground as part of his massive “Speed Does Africa” livestream tour.
This 28-day extravaganza, which launched on December 29, 2025, will take him across 20 African countries, showcasing the continent’s vibrant cultures, people, and landscapes to his exploding global fanbase. Nigeria marks his 15th stop, and what a milestone it is.
Fresh off the plane on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, Speed fired up his livestream, diving headfirst into Lagos life just in time for his 21st birthday celebrations. The highlight? Smashing through 50 million YouTube subscribers, a huge win broadcast live to the world.
Fans gave him a royal welcome at the iconic Nike Art Gallery, where Bata dancers lit up the scene in his honor. Speed rocked a traditional dansiki outfit and even tried his hand at the moves, bringing pure energy.
He didn’t hold back on the jollof rice debate either, after chowing down on Nigeria’s spicy version, he crowned it the undisputed champ over Ghana’s.
The adventure rolled on with a classic Lagos ride: a bumpy, iconic danfo yellow bus tour through the commercial heart of the city, among others, capturing every chaotic, thrilling moment.
