Bello Muhammad Zaki
Bello Muhammad Zaki, former spokesperson to Jigawa State’s immediate past governor, has dramatically resigned from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The Unguwar Gabas resident in Kazaure Local Government Area announced the move in a January 1, 2026, letter to his NNPP ward chairman. After broad consultations with family, relatives, supporters, and well-wishers, Zaki cited immediate effect resignation to unite with like-minded ADC members, calling it his top New Year resolution.
He attached his NNPP membership card per party rules, extended New Year wishes to NNPP leaders and members, and thanked them for past support.
Political watchers say Zaki’s defection, fueled by his sharp political communication skills, could reshape dynamics in Kazaure and Jigawa State.
