The Confederation of African Football (CAF), in its verdict on the controversial AFCON 2025 final, has fully exonerated Jean-Jacques Ndala, the Congolese referee who officiated the final between Senegal and Morocco, dismissing all allegations of wrongdoing.
In a statement released days back, CAF announced the results of its thorough review, confirming that no irregularities were identified in Ndala’s performance during the high-stakes match. “After a detailed examination of the case, CAF found no evidence of misconduct,” the governing body stated, praising the 38-year-old’s “seriousness and high level of professionalism.”
The decision brings closure to a post-match storm that saw calls for scrutiny over several key decisions in Senegal’s dramatic victory.
CAF’s endorsement, to those who agree with CAF, underscores Ndala’s rising stature on the continental stage, positioning him as a strong candidate for future elite assignments.
To them, and with this clearance, Ndala, including the likes of Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea the Ghanaian referee for the semifinal match between Nigeria and Morocco, whose poor, grossly bias and questionable officiating which many across the world claim to have rob the Super Eagles the match, joins a select group of African referees earning CAF’s trust for major tournaments….by CAF standard, that is.
