The Federal Government has officially declared Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, marking the joyous end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement issued Tuesday by Permanent Secretary Magdalene Ajani of the Ministry of Interior, Minister Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo extended warm greetings and congratulations to Muslim faithful for successfully completing their fast.
Tunji-Ojo urged Muslims to carry forward Ramadan’s core virtues - love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice - into daily life.
He called on all Nigerians to seize the festive period for prayers promoting the nation’s enduring peace, unity, and prosperity.
Wishing everyone a joyful Eid-ul-Fitr, the minister encouraged responsible celebrations and acts of kindness toward the less privileged.
He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s steadfast commitment to national unity and peaceful coexistence.
