Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu has decorated eight senior officers elevated to Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) rank.
The ceremony unfolded Monday, March 9, 2026, at Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The new DIGs: Zachariah Fera Achinyan, Zango Ibrahim Baba, Isyaku Mohammed, Margaret Agebe Ochalla, Mohammed Abdul Sulaiman, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha, and Umar Shehu Nadada.
They join Force Secretary Olabode Adeleye Akinbamilowo (AIG) to form the refreshed Force Management Team.
In a statement on Monday by Isuku Victor, deputy force spokesperson, Disu urged the officers to provide “strategic direction, strengthen internal discipline, and drive reforms to address security challenges”.
The IGP asked the officers to use their experience in intelligence-led policing, operational coordination, and inter-agency collaboration to inspire confidence in the force.
Last week, eight DIGs, including Frank Mba, retired from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as part of the new changes in the leadership structure.
The retirement is sequel to the appointment of Disu as IGP by President Bola Tinubu to replace Kayode Egbetokun.
