A chilling video has surfaced showing Delta State Police operatives from Effurun Area Command executing a handcuffed man at point-blank range, right as he pleaded for his life.
The shot to the head was followed by officers casually dumping his body into their operational vehicle.
This horror unfolded in broad daylight by a roadside, with the exact date still unclear. Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, according to reports, has named Usman Nuhu as one of the officers involved.
The footage emerged just two days after Guards Brigade soldiers in Abuja’s FCT were accused of gunning down NYSC corps member Abdulsamad Jamiu in his locked room.
The army claimed he was caught in armed robbery crossfire, but his parents insist he was murdered in cold blood.
Gwamnishu said: “Usman Nuhu and his gang, attached to the Area Command in Effurun, Delta State, brutally and extrajudicially killed a yet-to-be-identified young man yesterday.
“Usman Nuhu was formerly with the RRS (formerly #SARS) and has multiple allegations of extrajudicial killings against him. He had also served at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Illah but was reportedly transferred due to repeated misconduct and excessive use of force.
“While Usman Nuhu is currently in police custody, he did not act alone. Other officers involved in the incident are reportedly being shielded.
“There are strong indications of an ongoing cover-up. It is important that all responsible parties are identified and held accountable to ensure justice is served and to help end #ExtrajudicialKillings.”
