Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has made headlines by officially changing his birth date amid his ongoing rift with twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy).
The 44-year-old singer shared the bold move on X, declaring November 30 as his new birthday celebration date. This severs ties with the November 18 date the twins had shared for decades.
Fans speculate the change signals deeper family tensions from their years-long split of the duo P-Square.
“Dear Family, Friends, and Fans, I’m making it official. November 18th is no longer my birthday celebration date. Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day,” he wrote.
“My birthday will now be celebrated on November 30th. This is a personal decision, and I truly appreciate your understanding. Thank you all.”
He had earlier hinted at the decision in a separate post, simply stating: “I am officially changing my birthday date.”
Born November 18, 1981, Peter Okoye (Mr P) has dominated headlines in recent years over his explosive fallout with twin Paul (Rudeboy) after P-Square’s 2017 breakup.
The rift ignited when Peter clashed with the duo’s role for older brother Jude Okoye as manager.
A fragile truce came in November 2021, capped by their first headline concert in December, but it crumbled by 2024.
Paul then accused Peter of sparking his EFCC arrest, while Peter fired back over alleged mismanagement irregularities, reigniting public spats and family legal battles.
