Air Peace, West Africa’s largest airline, has added another Boeing 737-800 Next Generation to its fleet, reinforcing its drive for greater efficiency, route growth, and improved passenger comfort.
The aircraft, registered 5N-CGD, arrived on May 25, 2026, as part of the carrier’s ongoing fleet modernisation and expansion programme.
The new jet increases Air Peace’s operational capacity and supports more reliable, seamless services across its domestic, regional and international network.
With a fleet that now stands at over 30 aircraft made up of Boeing 777s, Boeing 737s, Embraer jets, Dornier aircraft, and other modern equipment, Air Peace remains the largest airline in West Africa by fleet size and route network. The airline continues to dominate the Nigerian aviation landscape while steadily expanding its footprint beyond the continent.
The arrival of the Boeing 737-800 NG is expected to significantly boost flight availability, improve schedule reliability, and support the airline’s growing passenger demand. Aviation experts note that the aircraft type is globally respected for its efficiency, passenger comfort, and strong operational performance.
For passengers, the fleet expansion translates into more seamless travel experiences, better connectivity, fewer disruptions, and increased scheduling flexibility. It also strengthens Air Peace’s ability to deploy backup aircraft more effectively during operational adjustments, ensuring improved on-time performance and customer satisfaction.
The development comes at a time when the airline continues to expand its services and invest heavily in safety, manpower development, and operational excellence. Air Peace has repeatedly emphasized its commitment to giving Nigerians and other travelers world-class service comparable to international standards.
Industry observers say the continuous acquisition of additional aircraft reflects the airline’s long-term vision and confidence in the Nigerian aviation sector despite prevailing economic and operational challenges.
As Air Peace continues to grow its fleet and network, the flying public can look forward to enhanced travel convenience, expanded route options, and an even better overall flying experience, its management assures.
