Air Peace, West Africa’s largest carrier, has deepened its commitment to operational excellence by partnering with Dutch Aviation Trainers (DAT) to enhance crew training and align with global best practices.
Leadership from both organisations met on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Air Peace’s corporate headquarters in Lagos to discuss collaboration on pilot training initiatives focused on the airline’s Boeing 737 NG fleet.
The engagement highlights Air Peace’s drive to strengthen pilot proficiency and safety standards through access to specialised international training expertise.
DAT is currently responsible for the training of Air Peace pilots on the Embraer E1 and E2 aircraft types, further deepening an existing relationship focused on enhancing technical expertise and flight operations standards.
The Dutch Aviation Trainers team, renowned globally as a leading Aviation Training Organisation (ATO) specialising in Boeing and Embraer aircraft training, offers comprehensive type-rating programmes and various courses designed to equip pilots with advanced operational proficiency in line with international aviation standards.
They have trained the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and AMAS Airlines Uruguay, among others.
Speaking during the engagement, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, reaffirmed the airline’s unwavering commitment to investing in human capital development, safety, and continuous training as part of its broader vision to maintain world-class operational standards across its growing fleet and route network.
Representing Dutch Aviation Trainers at the meeting was the founder, and CEO, Captain Paul Ten Hof, and Herman, who engaged with the Air Peace leadership on areas of training collaboration and future capacity-building opportunities.
The partnership further underscores Air Peace’s strategic focus on maintaining a highly trained workforce while continuously aligning with global aviation best practices to deliver safe, reliable, and exceptional services to passengers across its domestic, regional, and international operations.
