After 56 days in captivity, Oyo principal gifted with new Toyota Camry

Mrs. Rachael Alamu, principal of Community High School, Esiele in Oriire Local Government Area, has reportedly received a brand-new Toyota Camry from Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State.

The donation is said to be in recognition of Mrs. Alamu’s courage and resilience after she was abducted during coordinated attacks on May in her school in Oriire, incidents that also saw pupils and other teachers taken hostage.

Mrs. Alamu and other abducted teachers and pupils were held in captivity for 56 days before being released. The attack prompted widespread concern from parents, community leaders, and state authorities.

In presenting the vehicle, Senator Alli praised Mrs. Alamu’s bravery and reiterated calls for stronger security measures to protect schools and restore public confidence.

Community members who spoke after the presentation expressed relief at Mrs. Alamu and the pupils return and welcomed the symbolic support, while urging government and security agencies to intensify efforts to prevent future kidnappings of educators and students.
