An Air Peace aircraft triggered a brief emergency response at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, on Saturday when a fire indication appeared in the cockpit shortly after the plane had landed and been parked.
According to an August 30 statement from Air Peace management, the flight had completed its scheduled run and was parked with passengers preparing to disembark when the captain saw the fire alert. Acting on standard safety protocols, the captain ordered an immediate evacuation as a precaution. All passengers exited the aircraft safely and no injuries were reported.
Air Peace said the alarm was later determined to be false and that its maintenance and engineering teams have begun a full technical inspection to identify what caused the warning.
The airline praised the flight crew, ground staff, airport emergency services, and passengers for their calm and professional response.
