Cristiano Ronaldo and his longtime partner, model and influencer Georgina Rodríguez, have quietly married in a civil ceremony in Portugal.
On Instagram, the football icon shared a simple but emotional image of two hands - presumed to be his and Rodríguez’s - both wearing wedding bands.
Portuguese media called it “the wedding of the year,” reporting the couple exchanged vows on 11 August 2026 in the coastal town of Cascais near Lisbon, with their five children in attendance.
The post drew a tidal wave of attention: more than three million likes within 30 minutes.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez have been together for a decade after meeting while she worked at a Gucci boutique in Madrid during his Real Madrid years. They announced their engagement on 11 August 2025, when Rodríguez posted a photo of a large diamond ring and wrote in Spanish, “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
Ronaldo is father to five children, two of whom are with Rodríguez. She has played a central role in raising the other three. The family is currently based in Riyadh, where Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr.
The couple share two daughters: Alana Martina, born in 2017, and Bella, born in April 2022; Bella’s birth was accompanied by the heartbreak of a stillborn baby boy.
Professionally, Ronaldo’s career is unmatched in scale: close to 1,000 goals while representing Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Al-Nassr. He has captained Portugal and recently made his sixth World Cup appearance - a men’s record he shares with Lionel Messi.
At 41, Ronaldo has won the Ballon d’Or five times, second only to Messi’s eight. Al-Nassr confirmed last year that Ronaldo signed a new two-year deal that keeps him at the Riyadh club until 2027.
The Bloomberg Billionaires Index last year estimated his net worth at $1.4 billion, making him the world’s first billionaire footballer.
