Opposition Politicians, APC Allies: Soludo, Wike, Adeleke make 2027 campaign council

Gov Chukwuma Soludo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has named Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, as a member and Anambra coordinator of its revised Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election, despite his position as National Leader of the opposition All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Soludo joins other prominent opposition figures on the expanded council, including Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu heads the council, with Wike assigned to coordinate the APC campaign in Rivers State and the FCT, Soludo in Anambra State, and Adeleke in Osun State.

Other members of the council include Presidential Adviser on Policy and Coordination Hadiza Bala Usman, former Ogun State Governors Ibikunle Amosun and Gbenga Daniel, former Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, and former House of Representatives member Patrick Obahiagbon.

Also listed are former Osun APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji, former APC National Legal Advisers Dr. Muiz Banire and Babatunde Ogala, Chief Ayiri Emami, Victor Giadom, and Magnus Abe. The list also includes Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola.

The APC described the appointments as part of an inclusive political arrangement aimed at strengthening support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election. APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, said the campaign council would be inaugurated on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
