Deji, Diane and Giddyfia Sunday night, Sept 4, 2022, were evicted from the seventh edition of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality TV show.
The trio were asked to leave the house on during the live eviction show.
Deji’s eviction may not have come as a surprise to the audience after the organisers of the show had revealed the content creator as the remaining fake housemate in the house. This was also considering that Modella, the other fake housemate was also evicted last Sunday.
Deji may have actually escaped eviction same day as Modella following a plea by him to Big Brother during his diary session for grace of an additional week in the house.
Big Brother’s response to his plea, though and in his usual language, was that his (Deji’s) request would be looked into. This may probably explain why he was not evicted same week as Modella but enjoyed one more week stay in the house.
Fast forward to the following week and Ebuka would ask those nominated for eviction to stand up. He followed this up by asking for the fake housemate to step forward. Unlike Modella last week, Deji, this week, did not immediately step forward as the fake housemate.
He instead waited until Ebuka had to call him out, something he later explained on stage after he left the house that he was only following last week’s instruction to him by Big Brother that during the eviction, he should not step forward when Ebuka asks that the fake housemate should do so. He explained that he thought Big Brother was again playing the same prank as last week.
Recall however that Modella, the other fake housemate, had been evicted on August 28 after she was brought in during the second week of the show alongside Deji.
Cyph and Christy O were the first housemates to be voted out of this year’s edition of the show.
They were followed by Khalid and Ilebaye, who got booted out of the show during the third live eviction show.
Kess and Pharmsavi became the fifth and sixth housemates to be evicted from the show last Sunday.
Beauty was earlier disqualified from BBNaija after an altercation with Groovy, her love interest, for dancing with Chomzy.
The winner of this year’s edition, titled ‘Level Up’, will go home with a grand prize of N100 million.
