BREAKING: Access Bank co-founder Herbert Wigwe dies in helicopter crash

Herbert Wigwe, the co-founder of Access Bank and CEO of Access Holdings, has died in a fatal helicopter crash in California. 

The chopper was headed to Las Vegas when it crashed near a border city between Nevada and California on Friday night, killing all six people on board. 

Wigwe was also the founder of Wigwe University, which he planned to build with a $500 million investment. The university was set to offer undergraduate courses in management, science and engineering, information technology, and creative arts. 

Wigwe was a prominent Nigerian banker and entrepreneur who had spent decades in the banking sector. He was an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Executive Management Programme and held a master’s degree in Banking and International Finance from the University College of North Wales.

Wigwe's death is a great loss to the Nigerian business community.
