One Mrs. Folakemi, a resident of Ede local government in Osun state, who had been battling with goiter, recently passed away after declining free surgery and opting for a monetary contribution instead.
Despite her prolonged struggle with goiter, when a team of doctors offered her complimentary medical assistance, she made the decision to forego the treatment and requested the funds that had been raised on her behalf. Despite efforts by the NGO to persuade her to reconsider, Mrs. Folakemi remained steadfast in her choice to receive the N300,000 donation.
Following her decision, she accepted the money and returned to her village.Tragically, reports making the round confirm that Mrs. Folakemi passed away six months after receiving the monetary contribution.
