Wizkid |
Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Wizkid has boldly proclaimed himself the "flyest man on earth" in a recent social media post.
On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, Wizkid took to his Instagram story to make the bold declaration, writing: "Flyest nigga on earth."
The term "flyest" is often used to describe someone of great importance, wealth, and assertiveness. The term also refers to a person who is highly influential, knows how to handle money, and is confident and assertive in all aspects of their life. It denotes a level of style, success, and status that sets an individual apart from the rest.
Wizkid, known for hit songs like "Superstar," is no stranger to boasting about his accomplishments. As a Grammy-winning artist, he has established himself as one of the biggest musical stars to emerge from Nigeria. His confident and unapologetic persona likely contributes to his self-proclaimed status as the "flyest man on earth."
The post was shared a few hours after the singer and Jada Pollock, his manager and baby mama, appeared at the Paris Fashion Week.
Wizkid, born Ayodeji Balogun, gained prominence in the music landscape in 2011 when he released his debut album ‘Superstar’.
He has released four additional albums including, ‘Ayo (Joy)’ in 2014, ‘Sound From The Other Side’ in 2017, ‘Made In Lagos’ in 2020, and ‘More Love, Less Ego’ in 2022.
He recently revealed he is considering organising a show to celebrate the 13th anniversary of his debut album, ‘Superstar’.
He is also set to release his sixth album, ‘Morayo’ — dedicated to his late mother.
Wizkid is considered to be among the three biggest artistes in Nigeria in contemporary times.
In April, the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker sparked a frenzy on social media after he mocked Davido and Don Jazzy.
Wizkid called Don Jazzy, the Mavin Records boss, an “influencer” while taunting Davido with a video of him on his knees, pleading and crying.
Wizkid's bold declaration of being the "flyest man on earth" is a testament to his self-assurance and belief in his own success and influence. While the claim may raise eyebrows, it is consistent with the singer's reputation for being outspoken and unafraid to celebrate his achievements.
