Chima Udoye has emerged victorious in the 2024 edition of Nigerian Idol, the popular music competition show. The 24-year-old singer from Anambra state clinched the coveted title after a thrilling finale that saw him outperform his closest rivals, Chioma and Lammy.
As the winner, Udoye will receive a grand prize package worth N30 million, including a brand-new SUV, a record deal, and a music video production.
The finale, which aired live on Sunday, July 14, featured electrifying performances from guest artists such as Simi, Chike, and past Nigerian Idol winners Progress and Victory Gbakara.
In a heartfelt gesture, judge Omawunmi took the stage with the evicted contestants to perform a special thank-you song, showcasing the camaraderie and support within the Nigerian Idol family.
Nigerian Idol, the local version of the global Idol franchise, premiered its ninth season in April 2024, hosted by the charismatic IK Osakioduwa. The judging panel for this year's edition consisted of music icons 9ice, Omawumi, and Ric Hassani.
