Gombe Police Command has arrested 90 individuals involved in property looting following a peaceful #EndBadGovernance protest that escalated into violence in the state capital.
ASP Buhari Abdullahi, the Command's Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that no fatalities occurred during the protest. He praised the Bolari community for their crucial role in aiding law enforcement to recover stolen items and apprehend suspects.
Buhari, in the statement, commended Bolari community for assisting in the arrest and recovery of the looted property.
"The Command appreciates the Bolari community members for their efforts towards recovering some of the looted property and to everyone who contributes towards this positive turnaround," the statement reads.
Buhari also assured that "the Gombe State general area is calm as people are moving on with their lawful activities and the command is committed in maintaining this progress with monitoring and extensive patrols.
"The return to normalcy is a testament to the act of professionalism, resilience and restrain exhibited by the police officers and other security agencies in the State", the statement stressed.
According to the PPRO, the Commissioner of Police, Hayatu Usman, urged members of the public to continue cooperating with the security agencies in preserving and maintaining law and order in the State.
