Nigeria's Enekwechi aims for shot put glory on Olympics Day 8

Team Nigeria enters its first final at the 2024 Paris Olympics today, August 3, 2024, with Chukwuebuka Enekwechi competing in the men's shot put final at Stade de France. 

The 31-year-old secured his spot by throwing 21.13m, ranking ninth overall despite falling short of the 21.35m qualification standard. The final is set for 6:35 PM.

Additionally, Rosemary Chukwuma will race in the women's 100m semi-final against top competitors, while Favour Ashe and Kanyinsola Ajayi will participate in the men's 100m round one. 

They actually took to the track this morning and both have already progressed to the semis.

Adaku Nwandu also represented Nigeria in the women's 50m freestyle swimming 10am today but couldn’t progress to the next round.
