Annette Nneka Echikunwoke has made history by winning a silver medal in women's hammer throw at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Competing for the United States, she achieved a season's best throw of 75.48 meters in her Olympic debut.
Echikunwoke previously held both the Nigerian and African records with a throw of 75.49 meters.
After being disqualified from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, due negligence of the Athletics Federation of Nigeira, she switched her allegiance back to the U.S. and has now become the first American woman to medal in this event, showcasing her remarkable journey and resilience in athletics.
