Prince Uche Secondus |
Prince Uche Secondus, the former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has publicly endorsed Asue Ighodalo as the party's gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming Edo state election on September 21, 2024.
Prince Secondus said in a statement in Abuja on Thursday that the PDP flag bearer is clearly a stand-out candidate for the position with his wealth of experience in the management of man and material.
The former PDP boss in the statement signed by his media adviser, Ike Abonyi, urged Edo voters to come out in their numbers to cast their votes for the best candidate, who will take Edo to the next level.
Prince Secondus admonished critical stakeholders involved in the conduct of the election to be transparent, bearing in mind the bigger consequences of a marred election to our democracy.
He said that the country is going through a horrific situation already resulting from APC’s misrule and cannot afford further strains arising from flawed elections.
Prince Secondus further called on the INEC to use the Edo election to remedy their battered image.
He also urged security operatives to be professional and unbiased in their conduct and to let only the will of Edo voters prevail.
Finally, Prince Secondus noted that all the tensions trailing the election can be watered down to zero if INEC and security agencies play by the rules.
