President Bola Tinubu has executed a significant cabinet reshuffle, dismissing five ministers and appointing seven new ones as of October 23, 2024.
The dismissed ministers include Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (State for Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development).
The new appointees are Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu (State for Foreign Affairs), Nentawe Yilwatda (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction), Maigari Dingyadi (Labour and Employment), Jumoke Oduwole (Industry), Idi Maiha (Livestock Development), Yusuf Ata (State for Housing), and Suwaiba Ahmad (State for Education).
Additionally, Shehu Dikko was appointed chairman of the National Sports Commission, while Sunday Akin Dare becomes Special Adviser on Public Communication.
All appointments require Senate confirmation.
