[Photos]: Super Eagles gear up for crucial clash against Zimbabwe in World Cup qualifiers

The Super Eagles of Nigeria wrapped up their final training session, yesterday, Monday, March 24, 2025, setting the stage for a pivotal 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Zimbabwe on today, March 25, 2025. 

The team, under the guidance of head coach Eric Chelle, is determined to secure a second consecutive victory after their 2-0 triumph over Rwanda last Friday.

Nigeria currently sits in fourth place in Group C with six points, aiming to close the gap on leaders South Africa (10 points) and Benin Republic (8 points), who face off in a simultaneous fixture. A win against Zimbabwe would elevate the Super Eagles to nine points, keeping their World Cup dreams alive.

Captain William Troost-Ekong has emphasized the importance of this match, stating, “We cannot afford to drop any more points. Our aim is to take it one match at a time and hope these points will be enough to get us the ticket”.

The Warriors of Zimbabwe, who are winless in the qualifiers with just three points, will be looking to upset the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. The match kicks off at 5 PM Nigerian time, with live coverage on DSTV and StarTimes.

As the Super Eagles aim to soar, all eyes will be on Uyo to see if they can secure a vital victory in their quest for World Cup qualification.
