Nonetheless, the event which held on Tuesday, April 1, saw a massive turnout of supporters who warmly welcomed the senator, reaffirming her popularity among her constituents.
The Kogi State Government had earlier banned all rallies and public gatherings, citing intelligence reports of potential security threats, in what many saw as an attempt at denying access to her constituents. The police also issued a stern warning, advising Senator Natasha to suspend her planned visit to avoid possible unrest.
However, the senator dismissed these concerns, stating, “We are pleased to confirm that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Sallah visit to Kogi Central Senatorial District will proceed as planned”.
Senator Natasha’s visit comes amid a series of political challenges, including her suspension from the Senate following her allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

They claim that an already submitted petition to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was made of fake signatures purportedly masterminded by the State government along with the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
That not withstanding, the Sallah cum homecoming event of Natasha was marked by a festive atmosphere, with supporters expressing their unwavering loyalty to the senator.
Natasha had emphasized her commitment to fostering unity and cooperation within her constituency, stating, “Her dedication to the people of Kogi Central is unwavering, and she looks forward to celebrating Eid-el-Fitr with her constituents”.
