Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak has been named the CAF Women’s Player of the Year at the 2025 CAF Awards in Rabat, outshining Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade in a closely contested race.
Chebbak’s outstanding leadership and consistent performances for both Morocco’s national team and club side earned her widespread acclaim throughout the year.
Her midfield mastery was key to Morocco’s strong international showings, underscoring her pivotal role on the pitch.
Despite Ajibade’s impressive season with the Super Falcons and PSG, which helped Nigeria secure their record 10th WAFCON championship, she narrowly missed out on the individual accolade.
This triumph marks a significant milestone for Chebbak, reinforcing her place among Africa’s elite women footballers. It also reflects Morocco’s rising influence and sustained commitment to advancing women’s football across the continent.
