The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially invited Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, for questioning.
The inquiry centers on financial transactions that took place during his tenure as the country’s chief law officer under the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
In response to the summons, Malami confirmed the invitation and expressed his readiness to cooperate fully with the EFCC. He stated, “As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation.”
Malami emphasized his dedication to the principles of accountability and transparency in public service, values he claims to have consistently advocated and upheld throughout his career.
“Rooted in public service and in the spirit of transparency and accountability, I am committed to sharing with the Nigerian public the developments as they unfold,” he added.
