The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) kicked off Day 1 of a vital stakeholder engagement at its Auditorium in the Communications and Digital Economy Complex, NCC Annex Office, Mbora, FCT, Abuja.
Industry leaders and regulators gathered to discuss the Spectrum Roadmap 2026-2030, alongside new guidelines for deploying 60 GHz multi-gigabit wireless systems and the lower 6 GHz band for WiFi-6 technology.
The session aims to shape Nigeria’s digital future by optimizing spectrum use for faster, more reliable wireless networks, boosting connectivity and innovation nationwide.
Among key attendees are Engr. Atiku Lawal, Head of Spectrum Administration Department (NCC); Engr. Gidado Maigano Ahmed, Head of Fixed Networks and Converged Services (NCC); Mr. Abubakar Hammanyaji, Head of Spectrum Assignment (NCC); Dr. Joseph Emeshili, Head of Spectrum Planning (NCC); Dr. Nihinlola Fafore, Deputy Director of Huawei Business Environment/Affairs Nigeria; and Mr. Idongesit Udo, Country Lead for the Digital Access Program at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
