The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) is set to investigate shocking claims of child sexual abuse and misconduct at a daycare run by the mother of popular singer Simi Kosoko.

The probe comes amid fresh outrage online, sparked by the resurfacing of an old tweet from Simi that some X users interpret as hinting at inappropriate behavior toward children at the facility.

In a statement posted on its official X account, NAPTIP urged anyone with “factual information, evidence, or direct knowledge” of the allegations to come forward confidentially.

The agency pledged a full investigation upon receiving credible tips, underscoring its zero-tolerance stance on child abuse and daycare misconduct across Nigeria.

“Public Notice: We take all reports of child sexual abuse/misconduct seriously and are committed to investigating every credible claim,” the notice reads.

“Following recent public discussions and concerns raised regarding alleged incidents of child sexual abuse/misconduct in daycare settings in Nigeria, we are committed to thoroughly investigating credible report.

“We kindly request anyone with factual information, evidence, direct knowledge, or who was personally affected by the matters referenced in the viral posts or related experiences to kindly reach out to us confidentially. Via DM or email us info@naptip.gov.ng.”

Simi, however, dismissed the allegations of child sexual abuse, explaining that her old tweets merely reflected the playful nature of a cheeky young woman with nothing to conceal.

She maintained that the posts were never made with any inappropriate intent.
