A game-changing multi-year distribution agreement between Travelport and Air Peace Limited, announced on March 1, 2026, promises to revolutionize African aviation by linking West Africa’s largest airline to Travelport’s vast global agency network.
At the heart of this partnership is Travelport Plus, a cutting-edge retailing platform that delivers real-time access to Air Peace’s full inventory of domestic, regional, and international flights.
For the first time, travel agents in Africa, Europe, and North America can effortlessly book Air Peace services, including extras like baggage, seat selection, and lounge access, with the simplicity reserved for top global carriers, the airline said in a statement.
The Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) hailed the deal as a “new era” for African connectivity. Kenyan agents now bypass fragmented systems for seamless bookings on routes like Nairobi to Lagos, with easy connections to London, Mumbai, and Guangzhou following the development, Newsmart also learnt
Led by Chairman Allen Onyema, Air Peace has aggressively grown its fleet with Embraer 195-E2 and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. This Travelport integration matches that expansion with unmatched digital reach, empowering the airline to rival international giants, the airline added.
The move, it maintains, bolsters regional mobility, easing business travel, tourism, and diaspora links while aligning with the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM).
Despite hurdles like fuel costs and currency swings, Air Peace is now primed to tap demand in 180 countries, proving African carriers are forging their own global path through smart digital infrastructure.
