Abuja residents are reeling from Tuesday’s (April 7, 2026) ferocious rainstorm that demolished the Kugbo bus terminal on the Abuja-Keffi expressway – a gleaming facility President Bola Tinubu proudly commissioned in June 2025, on the invitation of the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, to crush “one chance” crimes plaguing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
On the occasion of the launch, Tinubu hailed the terminal, one of three modern hubs in FCT, and which gulped billions, as a game-changer against the chaos of unregulated transport in Nigeria’s capital. Yet, shockingly, it sat unused for nearly nine months since inauguration.
The storm unleashed havoc, ripping apart the structure with no fatalities but leaving one person injured and a car wrecked. Photos from the scene capture the devastation in stark detail.
