The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has announced funeral arrangements, with burial rites concluding on June 18, 2026.
Ekubo, who died on May 11 after a battle with kidney cancer, is being remembered in an obituary posted on the family’s Instagram page.
The statement signed by Mazi Alex Oji Ekubo Okwaraeke (UGWUARO) on behalf of the family, asked the public to continue praying for the actor, his wife, and the entire family during this difficult time.
Funeral events are as follows:
• Service of songs: Wednesday, June 10, 2026, 4:00–6:00 p.m., The Monarch Event Center, Lekki, Lagos. Guests should wear white.
• Wake keep: Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the family home, 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
• Funeral service and interment: Thursday, June 18, 2026. The funeral service will be at Mary Slessor School, followed by interment at the family residence, 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu.
• Reception: Immediately after interment at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu. Attendees are asked to wear white.
