BREAKING: Ex-power minister Saleh Mamman jailed for massive money laundering scam

Saleh Mamman

In a major win for anti-corruption fighters, a Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted former Power Minister Saleh Mamman on all 12 counts of money laundering brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Presiding Judge James Omotosho ruled that the EFCC proved Mamman’s guilt beyond reasonable doubt, delivering a stinging blow to the ex-minister who served under President Muhammadu Buhari from August 21, 2019, to September 1, 2021. Mamman was sacked during a cabinet reshuffle.

The verdict marks a significant step in Nigeria’s ongoing battle against graft in high places.
