Comoros swept past Sudan 30–0 on aggregate to advance to the second round of the 2028 Olympic qualifiers and earn a tie against Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
The Coelacanths began the tie with an emphatic 17–0 win on June 3, then wrapped up the tie five days later with a 13–0 victory.
Comoros struck early in the first leg, scoring within eight minutes, and never let up, producing a relentless attacking display that left Sudan reeling. Nine different players found the net across the two legs, underlining the depth and finishing power in the Comorian squad.
In the return match on Monday, Comoros netted three times before halftime and added 10 more after the break to complete the rout. With a 30–0 aggregate scoreline, they now face a far sterner test in the Super Falcons, Africa’s most decorated women’s team.
Coach Justine Madugu’s Super Falcons come into the tie on a positive run, having beaten Senegal 3–0 in a friendly at Remo Stars Stadium on June 8, following a 2–1 friendly win the previous week.
The second-round qualifiers are scheduled for October 5–13, 2026. Two African teams will secure spots at the women’s football tournament at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
