What a nightmare campaign for Nigeria's sprinters. The quartet was tipped to challenge for a medal in the event, but never got the chance to compete in the final after being disqualified for Lucy Nwankwo's false start.
After Miracle Oluebube Ezechukwu's disqualification in the individual 200m semi-final for a lane infringement, we got a glimpse of her talent on the anchor leg of the 4x100m heats, where she clocked an impressive 9.81 split to bring Nigeria from behind and kick the USA out of the final.
She also ran the anchor leg in the mixed 4x100m final, recording a 9.89 split as Nigeria crossed the line in fourth before the team was disqualified because one of the athletes used an unapproved pair of spikes.
All eyes were therefore on Ezechukwu for the women's 4x100m final. Unfortunately, it was not to be this time.
Still, the young sprinter has certainly shown that she is one to watch for the future.
